Alumni, Collaborators, and Current Students

Portrait of Bryan LagasseCaptain Bryan Lagasse graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2010 with a BS in Chemistry. He is currently a graduate student at Clemson and conducting research on the thermal degradation of chemical warfare agents and their simulants.

Portrait of Matt BlaisDr. Matthew Blais obtained his PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1997 and is now the director of two divisions (Fire and Chem Engineering) at Southwest Research Institute.  We have collaborated with Matt ina DTRA project aimed at decomposing chemical agents. Matt also started his own winery (Medina Winery) in the TX hill country.

Portrait of Jason GiulianiJason Giuliani started in the US Army as an aviation power plant mechanic and served in the first Gulf War. After being honorably discharged from the Army and working in the aviation and construction industries, he obtained an Assoc. Degree in Nanotechnology from NW Vista College. He joined our lab as an undergraduate researcher, where he was able to develop paper-based electrodes and publish 3 papers. After obtaining a NSF-Graduate Research Fellowship, he is now pursuing PhD studies at the Department of Physics at UT San Antonio. Read more...
